Phenomenal nose with spices, licorice, cherries, and menthol. Good acidity with more red fruit and berry flavors, spices, and lots of depth on the palate. Long finish. Wow, what a wine! It's gorgeous, very light but at the same time extremely complex, deep, and intense. Just impeccably balanced. Wish I had some in my cellar...

The Roots Fund Charity Wine Dinner (Atelier - Chicago IL): Late night taste from magnum. Ripe and dense for Brunello, but lacking complexity to me. Maybe I should either stop asking for tasted of Soldera... or taste a whole lot more of it.

Tasted blind. No decant needed. Amazing depth and concentration. A varied and versatile nose showing rose hip and Jasmin tea. Red berry fruit of cherries, rose petals and notes of dried tomatoes, Ultra-soft tannin, intense and present from attack to finish. Another outstanding wine, interestingly felt somewhat more advanced than the 2002.
Thanksgiving Mondo Dinner 2023 (Atlanta, GA): Non-blind. My third time tasting this vintage of Soldera and I LOVE IT. To redeem the Jadot Beze failure, I pulled this to redeem myself. This is one of the greats from Brunello. If served blind, it has the potential to confuse trained palates as a Grand Cru Burgundy from one of the great producers. I once tasted this blind vs. a Rousseau Clos St. Jacques and I picked the Soldera as the Burgundy in the line-up. A great ringer for great Burgundy.

The Roots Fund - Chicago Fundraising Dinner (Atelier - Chicago, IL): Magnum. Very similar to my note from a couple years ago. Texturally a wine to behold. So good.
