  • As per a few months ago this wine is in great shape. While the aromatics are somewhat nicked by a touch of ashiness there is still enough pure fruit that the ash aromatic is a background note. In the mouth the wine is pure and fuller than one would expect given the age and vintage. Red fruited with touches of spice and gaminess to round it out. Very good complexity, depth of flavor and a long finish. A few months ago this creamed a ’96 Bertagana Chambertin. While it was more clearly the second of the two wines this time around it more than stood its ground in elite company.
