Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 92.5 points

  • From a custom (hand-written) magnum. Strong woody notes and rather dried fruits, but it was still just holding and very popular. Not sure I’d score it more than 92-93pts, tastes old but lacked aromatics and depth

  • (From magnum, Disgorged in 1999, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay)
Surprised by the pressure left in the bottle that made me almost lost grip of the cork. Of course a very positive feeling and giving expectations of what to come.
Lovely bright yellow colour with a stream of very fine bubbles that lead way to the maturing nose dominated by sulphur and matches, and with time in the glass it opens up with pineapples and milk chocolate. Very nice palate showing tropical acidi of pineapple and notes of dried fruit before the lengthy finish showing some dried herbs and bitter lime peel in a very pleasant way. This was a positive showing and opens up very well in the glass with a lovely development, should keep well for some more years as well.
    (Best 1999-2019)
