Ruby color of medium intensity. Primary aromas have given way to tertiary - leather, earth, dried cranberry. Touch of coffee and medicinal herbs. Tannins have softens considerably. Drink now - not going to further age well.

Pop'n'pour. Brett extravagansa.

A little horsey on the nose. plenty of smoked meat and tar action coupled with dry herbs and ripe blood plum fruit. It is dense and chewy with some scorched earth tannin to the back-end. Quite a strong muscular wine that cut that partnered a smoky bacon pizza most amiably.

Youthful edge to colour; initially enticing nose which turns sullen; decent, lissom, well weighted, flatters to deceive. Ultimately, another unconvincing Clape CdR. Shame his Cornas is so pricy.

This wine started off the first day as a rough, tannic, closed wine and I was again disapointed. By the third day however it was a dark beauty with full ripe fruit and none of the roughness I got on the first and even second day. I guess this needs a lot of decanting time or another several years in the bottle but I finally tasted the promise I was hoping for.
