Had this in a tasting of Tuscan wines 1967-2020. This was one of the favorite bottles of the night. Very herbaceous nose. Mellow tannins, pleasant acidity, and lots of strawberries on the palate.

Decanted 30 minutes before this review. Crystal clear liquid, with a little bit of sediment caught in a screen on the decanter pour. Almost, but not quite, glyceriney texture; muted but significant black fruit; tobacco/saddle earthy notes; medium to light weight. Fading, but not faded. Has held up remarkably well after 32 years. No hurry, but will continue a slow decline.

Deep oxblood in color, full bodied Stewed plums, dates, licorice, some leather and pencil lead Lots of fruit left on this baby. Tastes like the nose. Medium plus finish. Silky smooth, nicely balanced. Years left. Whomever said this was over the hill, drank a poorly stored bottle. This vintage is in its zone. Wonderful bottle. Drink now or hold, but i don't think it will get much better. Cheers!

This is the Oro made from 90% Sangiovese plus some Caianolo and Malvasia Bianca. Fantastic wine. Why did I they move to Cab and Merlot in the blend. Thanks his was better!

Ready, but not over the hill. Definitely needs time in the decanter, and wouldn't wait forever, but 3-5 years seems safe.
