  • Red berries, herbs and brambles on the nose. Some emerging complexity with earth and wet leaves. On the plate soft and silky fruit and almost resolved tannins. Also quite high acidity. Lacking some depth, fruit is at times slightly thin. Medium lenght. Good stuff but might go downhill from here.

  • At Fleur de Sel. A neat little Savigny, if a touch on the lighter side. The nose was a little reserved, with cool notes of dark cherries lined with a touch of earth, spice and a line of minerality. With time, a little blush of florals started creeping in at the edges of the bouquet. The palate started out a little lean, with dark cherry notes lined with stony minerality wrapped in fine tannins and gobs of fresh acidity, all lending the wine a lovely precise feel. Again though, some time and air helped this to open up nicely, with a sweeter flush of red and blue fruit coming up just before a tail of spice and mineral led the wine out in a nice finish. Still on the lighter side overall, but a well put together wine. It needs a few years in the bottle to be at its best I think.

  • Previous notes apply. I continue to rate 90 but honestly I think it deserves 91-92. Consistency, balance, smooth. My only hesitation is it lacks the complexity I love in Burgundy but it is an excellent 'go to' wine and a 'crowd pleaser'. I should have bought more when visiting the winery?

  • This wine remains an excellent 'go to' for a typical Burgundy that pairs well with many foods. Versatile is the key here. Well balanced yet not as complex a wine as I like. Expressing nice light but red and black fruit. Very expressive of terroir. The acidity level would suggest drinking earlier than later. Light tannins. In all a very nice wine. Tasted originally at the winery and these bottles are consistent with that tasting.

  • Tasted and bought at winery in Burgundy. Excellent daily drinker expression the terroir and character of Burgundy. Sometimes when you taste with the winemaker a 'halo' effect comes into play but this tastes exactly the same as the day we tasted. Good color, great Burgundian smokiness, nice sweet red fruit and solid tannins and acidity. In all a VERY good wine at the price point.
