Double blind. Rich and ripe with nearly sweet black cherry from start-to-finish, but just medium density. None of us thought this Burgundy, and this didn’t come across as nuanced in any noticeable way. This was never as thrilling as it should be.

Virtual Blinds (Zoom / Chicago): Blind. Sunny, ripe fruits and florals on the nose takes me to new world Pinot Noir. The palate has nice, sweet red cherry with modest concentration and some slightly bitter acidity. I was guessing NW or Burgundy from a lean vintage. Disappointing showing.

this was a WOW wine, and I say that notwithstanding the fact that Beze isn't always my favorite (I prefer red fruit, elegance, less meaty, etc)... given the vintage this was a perfect Beze for me and it has evolved and deepened since my last... stupendous and layers and layers of secondary character -- purple fruit but mostly umami, Xmas spice, minerals, umami, umami... probably now through 2030 for me but great great stuff... tip of the cap to Groffier for this one
