  • Earthy, forestry nose plus some cherry notes. Blackberry and cherry fruit, nicely balance with some woody herbs on the palate. Wonderful balance and decent finish. Drinking very well now but probably a few more years too.

  • Perfect estate now. Still some primary fruit, terciary notes and a gentle tannin are framed by a uplifting acidity. No need to wait and a very gentle pleasure for a winter evening. Be careful with the food, as hearty dishes may overcome the wines tender virtues.

  • Still going right along. Developed more after it had been open for an hour or two, so maybe this will make old bones. Mouthfeel is becoming a bit more austere, in a nice way, with still terrific acidity. Primary fruit is hanging in there, but slowly moving more toward the savory secondary notes. At ten years, this is hardly an old wine, but it is starting to show that it has the makings of a fine older wine. Color is in transition and I'd expect that it will make the turn to full brick red quickly now. Probably on the right schedule--parcel out over six month intervals.

  • Another very competent bottle of this typical Brunello from a very good vintage. This is not developing anything new, but at these prices we can drink these like Chianti and finish them within the year.

  • Brilliant ruby, bricking orange towards a clear meniscus. Has that wonderful bouquet mature wines display. Notes of cherries, red currants, dried herbs, decaying leaves, cream, and vanilla. The mineral-tinged, palate follows suit. It's smooth and crisp, ferrous and tensile, and closes with dried and fresh cherries and a long Sichuan peppercorn finish.
