Pop and poured and it was ready to go. Cork was a little soft but came out in one piece via ah so, with little staining. Dark ruby & brick hue. Not particularly expressive on the nose but the palete makes up for it. Fully resolved tannins and drinking wonderfully, with bright red cherries, minerals and earthy tones. An excellent Burgundy and a welcome one especially after the few recent duds. 92-93

Served along with the 96 and 98. Quite a contrast in style to the 96, but I scored both the same. Dark fruits, lush, big middle. Very good structure and should blossom with cellaring.

rating is for night two, this was opened in Napa to accompany a cigar before drinking '78 Spring Mountain Vineyard cab at family dinner, drank the remaining 2/3's of the bottle on night two and it had opened up substantially (i.e. it was tight on night one)... light florals on the nose, very nice elegant mid range (btwn red and dark) fruit and decent spice, good grip and luxurious yet lively mouthfeel, delicious but also feels like it could be really exceptional in 5-10 years

could have just reached 92 -- if it was just me judging and if it hadn't been alongside an awesome bottle of '58 Borgogno Barolo, this wine had really nice acid, really nice tannin, as you would then expect really good grip, the spice profile was nice but the fruit was just a little light, which resulted in a slightly drying finish… close but just missed "great", had on thxgiving dinner

An acid bomb, no fruit, just like the 99 Grivot Clos Vougeot served alongside. Either badly stored or just not ready yet.
