Decanted and the wine smelled of roses and mushrooms and on the palate there was lingering finish of tart red cherries. The acidity was fantastic for a wine of this age, and it really opening up after an hour or so where the tertiary notes of tar, truffles and cedar gave way to some red fruit dipped in licorice. Drink now, but could hold a year or two. Old nebbiolo is thrilling!

Brick color, towards a light brown. Clear. It starts a bit musty, but it gets clean rather fast. It improves substantially, very fine, tertiary, but still fresh and airy. Quite high acidity, but it still has body, not very complex aromatically, but seamless and still intense. No tannins left, the structure is given by the acidity. We enjoyed it a lot.
