Nicely mature but in no danger of fading anytime soon, the fruit wasn't quite as deep and expressive as the only comparable bottle in my tasting experience, being a Produttori 96 Rabaja. Tried again in the evening and it had gotten more tannic and cinched.

Fine, though shows a bit too much in the direction of modern style and ripe vintage for my preference. In a fine drinking spot, though not at risk of falling apart and should have lots of life ahead.

Don't drink this wine alone; it needs food. But OH what a wine when paired with a well spiced, grilled meat with a little fat on the edge. Then the wine blasts off with tart fruit that sings with the meal. Here is where the remaining acid and tannin really support the combination of food and wine. By itself, it is still 91+ or so, with great anise on the nose and clean, ripe fruit. But, as I have already stated, it is made to enjoy with a good meal.

Two more bottles consumed. Truely a delightful Barbaresco. Both bottles still with lots of life left. Probably at peak about now though, so why wait.
