A robust red to pair with home made pulled pork. Following a Turley Old Vines 1997 Zinfandel is yoeman's work. Deeply colored with a nose of garrigue. Meduim full bodied with dark red fruits but not overly plummy or roasted. Good concentration but not overtly fruity. Blanced with a medium finish. A tad rustic with sufficient tannins to provide good grip. This would appear to have a pretty good proportion of mouvedre in the blend considering the style. A nice drink and ready now but not special. Held up fairly we against the spicy and slightly sweet BBQ sauce on the pulled pork.

Fruit has faded. Tannins harsh. Madierized on the nose and palate. Brick color and lots of sediment. Well past it's prime.
