After reading the previous note, we thought it may be time to open our penultimate bottle. PnP. This wine had a lovely nose, a completely enjoyable, round mouth feel with fully integrated tannins, and a nice finish. It reinforces my belief that lesser wines in great vintages can truly shine. A high tide lifts all (OK, most) boats.

This wine was tasted as part of a bigger Bordeaux tasting, so the note might be a little bit short:
cherry red, so quite dark for a wine of this age, smells a little bit of pencil lead and blackberry, light body, in the mouth pencil lead, not that dry, a rather short finish with blackberry

1982 Bordeaux + some Pirates (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Youthful and fresh bottle. A bit lactic nose, some barn, graphite and cedar wood. Lean body, good pressure and depth, mellow, medium tannin. Very good length. Great PQR. 92

last bottle :
A subtly woody wine that is supple, balanced : 40 years now and still fresh, bright red, not heavy

Leathery, a bit barnyardy and rather lean. Decent if not very good Medoc at its peak, drink up.
