Preg av granbar, gress, sitron og pære. Blir mer nyansert med tid i glasset. Kunne godt ha vært litt fyldigere og hatt mer syre. Ok lengde og en ok vin. Ikke gjennkjøp her i gården...

Lemon-green with fresh nose which opens up in the glass. Gentle grassy aromas, lemony, earthy minerality, some wet wool and sour cream (yeasty aromas?). Also nuances of aniseed and fennel. Enters the mouth smoothly with round supple texture (13% abv) but acidity soon becomes evident, crisp and refreshing. Has lemony, yeasty and mineral flavours. Long, green-grassy and refreshing, slightly bitter finish. Phenolic? Leaves a dryness on the mouth. Very good quality Sancerre, complex, nuanced, crisp and long. So nice to taste old world Sauvignon, tastes so much more like wine as I knew it than N.Z.

An Afternoon with Alphonse Mellot (Sancerre): Ah, a return to Sancerre! Frankly, this is so much more refreshing than the '09 with less heft, better acidity, and more snap. Tastes more lively than I recall.

An Eclectic Evening of Ups and Downs (Heirloom Cafe, San Francisco): Pale. Ooh, was this ever lemony, mineral and mouth puckering. "Brisk" is an understatement. No wood showing here.
