good level and cork, dark colour as a warning sign, oxidized, vinegary, totally past it, auction purchase, mostly you win but sometimes you lose, caveat emptor!

very tight cork, colour slightly amber yellow showing some age, nose intense buttery classic white burgundy / chardonnay, integrated oak, clean, intense, showing maturity, dry, deep, concentrated long palate with very good persistence and lovely aftertaste, voluminous, rich and full-bodied rather than fine but still with enough acid to balance, very good Chassagne at its mature peak, drink up

A sucky Burgundy tasting (no Grand Cru wines): Normally not a big Chassagne fan but oh boy this was singing. Wow on the nose with white and yellow florals, pollen, something bright and lively that is somewhat yellow-white and fruit like but not exactly, paraffin, mint. Big and lush and exciting. The palate is rich and shows some butterscotch, mint, pollen, some oak on the finish and minerals. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5/20.

Drank at Morgans for 2nd time since 2012. Notes mostly consistent. Big, fleshy wine, though more minerality & oak influence showing thru this time around. Sweet fruit, more oak up front than I recall. Nice spice and good length. Generous nose of oak-influenced white fruit. Pleasant wine that is still drinking well, showing a more pronounced minerality & less fruit influenced.

Citrus, nuts, pineapple. A nice minerality carries this way all the way to the long finish.
