  We purchased this mostly as a test, wanting to see what happens to albarino as it ages. What a pleasant surprise it was when we opened the bottle tonight. The nose was as close to “ocean” aromas as I’ve ever experienced – salt water, shells, sand, lots of minerality. On the palate, the fruit popped up nicely. There were tart apples, some star fruit, a touch of citrus. The finish moved from apple to mineral, and extended nicely. Best of all was how incredibly well it paired with our dinner of shrimp, rice, and fennel-apple salad.
