  Brick red, browning; beef-stock, fading, some strawberry notes, hints of blackcurrant even; soft red fruits, retains a ‘sweetness’; cracking up - edgy finish. Past it’s prime but drinkable. (Good level, inch below cork, which soaked through).

  From a bottle that had developed seepage and is considerably less pristine than my bottle 2 years ago. Cherry, tobacco, at times a bit like an old Bordeaux, the oxidation gives kind of a caramel tinge to the palate, lively acidity, slightly coarse and eventually drying rather than refreshing. Pretty good.

  Totally bricked in color. Mushroom, carob, vanilla, caramel, espresso, cedar, dried fruit nose. Luscious, sweet old palate that only fully mature wines seem to achieve. Tealike, tobacco, dusty, vanilla, old American oak, a touch of oxidation. Really charming.

  De color cereza marronoso de capa media-alta, con un matiz más oscuro que los habituales gran reservas riojanos, ligeramente turbio, con precipitados en el fondo de la botella (vino sin filtrar), borde anaranjado.
  
  Aromas de media intensidad. Muestra signos de reducción muy elegante, tabaco inglés, bombón en licor, caja de puro, fruta escarchada a la que se suma una barrica finamente avainillada. Los cremosos apuntalan el conjunto junto a especias ahumadas, pimienta negra, clavo, anises estrellados... Hay fruta negra ligeramente sobremadurada y reducida (grosella, moras) con apuntes achocolatados que se combinan con unos atractivos balsámicos casi mentolados, after-eight. Va ganando poco a poco en presencia y potencia al ir respirando el vino.
  
  En boca es de entrada cremosa y gruesa, muy distinguido. Amplio, estructurado, sabroso, con una acidez más que correcta que eleva el conjunto y lo dota de vida. La fruta negra va emergiendo para presentar sensaciones torrefactadas, cereza en licor y unos amargosos finales muy agradables. Un tinto suave, elegante que ha sabido envejecer con elegancia. Sigue vivo y promete grandes momentos.

  100% cabernet sauvignon - 12% vol.
  Las uvas proceden exclusivamente de un pequeño y selecto viñedo de cabernet sauvignon situado en el término municipal de Pacs del Penedès. Fermentación en cubas de acero inoxidable. Posterior crianza en barricas nuevas de roble americano y francés durante 6 meses. El vino continuó luego su envejecimiento en barricas de 2º ó 3er año hasta el momento de su embotellado en Noviembre de 1983.
