Bright garnet with slight bricking. Initially has some balsamic VA that mostly blows away. Still somewhat youthful nose of blackcurrants, creme de cassis, tar, some menthol, touch of development with fig and mushrooms. Palate is mouth filling, full bodied and fresh with red fruits, cassis, some slightly tart cranberries and touch of leather. Finishes long with nice pleasant soft-ish tannins and more tar and leather. This is likely drinking close to peak right now. Very good stuff.

100% Cabernet, aged in new French oak for 18 months. Aromas show the evolution of this wine with complex scents of tobacco, leather, dried sage, tea, mission fig, black plum, dark earth, coffee, oak and teakwood. The palate retains its acidity while the tannins have fully integrated. Flavors of dark cherry, fig and black plum come tightly woven with tobacco, leather, black tea, dried florals, herbs, earth, coffee and oak. the finish lingers replaying the tobacco and leather notes.

Dinner at R&Y: Deep and glossy dense ruby to almost purple at the core. Lovely nose of deep dark red fruit. Some spice too. Served blind this feels like a Syrah, and I just don't get a sense of Cab Sauv at all. That said, it's lovely. Rich, deep and long. ****

Oh dear. I can’t recall when last, if ever I withdrew a wine that I’d cellared for almost of its life and found it was passed it.
Sweet, toffee character remains. And some vinegar. Mouse dropping aromas.

Lovely wine. Deep and brooding, with lots of character and soft, chewy tannins. Drinking nicely, but ought to be able to hold for a long time I think.
