What a sublime Hermitage blanc from a difficult vintage. Made from a 55 year old 2 ha single vineyard Marsanne, aged for 11 months in oak, 50% new barrels. Deep golden. Intense complex aroma of figs, dried fruits such as apricots, peaches, apples, dried honey, caramel, butter, wax. Full body, masculine and powerful, incredible concentration and intensity with flavours of dried stone fruits, caramel, toast, roasted nuts. Seductive richness is cut by medium+ acidity and concludes with very long and ripe finish.

Once again sublime... Beautiful shiny golden colour, a delight to behold. Still no sign of ageing on the nose, just wonderful ripe fruit, butter and honey. Mouthcoating texture, velvety, supple without any heaviness. Intense flavour of such poise and perfection that does not have the feel of an old wine, just of a sublime wine whatever its age might be. Staying finish. Probably at a peak now...

This was in a great spot tonight. Billowing nose of smudged candle wick, apricot jam, lemon candy, tangerine, verbena, honey and white flowers. Thick and richly textured, full bodied and oily, integrated acidity and minerality keeps it lively. Long finish with a delectable sweet herbal note resonating. This should be worth keeping for another 10+, but will it improve? Quite possibly yes, as it has tension and freshness to spare right now.

Fromt Methusalem. Rich, broad, honeynotes, brioche here, tasted vis-a-vis Le d'Orée - and certainly better in my book.

Honey color. Nose gives waxy lychee and golden apple. Texturally soft and round. Finish lingers asymptotically.
