The cork was almost completely wet so I questioned the storage of this wine. Fairly harsh to begin with but after an hour it opened up and became quite pleasent. This was my first purchase from a total wine store and I would not buy another older bottle from them again, the price was also more than I expected. I have had better bottles of michele chiarlo at much better prices.

Disappointing bottle. Lighter color and mid-weight in most ways. Tannic and astringent out of bottle and no amount of air time eliminated an unpleasant green astringency. Still there on day 2. Red currant and sour cherry flavors along with some complex spice could not overcome other factors.

Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over an hour plus. Opens nicely over 15 minutes revealing floral notes with strawberry, dried raspberry, plenty of damp forest floor and some anise. The palate is mid weight also very earthy with strawberry and red berry fruit, more anise than the nose, underbrush, spicy and some still ripe yet still firm tannins on a medium finish. Ithink this is approaching peak and can go for 5 or so years.

Drinking really well. Nice nose long finish. Good solid wine and really good qpr, imo. Have had several bottles of this and it is really good "every day" kind of wine. Decanted thru a venturi and then let sit about 15 min. Would give it a 90+, maybe 91.

Nice wine, better on day two. Great mouthfeel, long finish, smooth tannins. Drinking very well.
