  • Musty cork on top but not to worry. Medium ruby, perfumed nose opened up right away. Very nice drink from a vintage not too highly thought of. My last bottle and if I had more, I would enjoy them now.

  • Virtual Grand Cru Study Session (Home): Medium dark ruby color with a 6mm transitional margin. Splash decanted and pour into vessels for transport at 1:30pm. Drank 2 glasses over 3.5 hours starting at 3:45pm. This is one of those wines that is a bit decepetive, lighter in body, rather feminine in style and still quite giving. It won't necessarily wow you like some Chambertins, but it will beguile you with that elegance. The nose offers up a burst of leather, red fruits, damp forest floor and fresh herbs. As it gradually awakens there's more strawberry, strawberry chiffon, spices and hints of dried hay and licorice stick. The palate is more red cherry, fairly soft tannins that are well integrated, medium bodied, with really nice spice notes that intermingle with those lovely red fruits. This is a wine I can totally appreciate; elegant and resolved, deft yet delicate. This can hold itself together for a several more years, but I'd suggest striking while the iron is still hot as I don't see it getting better. It held up well over 3 hours plus, and though it was still very good the next day it lost a point or so. Wish I'd bought a couple more. 92+ to 93pts.

  • Had side by side with a 2000 Arcadian Francesca, this was more earth driven and showed slightly more lackluster in comparison. Very enjoyable and similar to bottle opened last may.

  • Corked, subtle at first and obvious as it warmed

  • Mature red fruit and a touch of warmth on the nose. Palate has nice mineral presence, good acidity, mature red fruit, fruit was dull, felt a touch tired, nice earthy elements, wont wait too long to open remaining bottles.
