A pleasant surprise. Relatively light-footed for a Gevrey Grand Cru but loads of velvety Pinot character, especially on the nose. Mouthfilling and with a long and fine aftertaste. Really like it. A mid-range Grand Cru from a mid-range producer in a mid-range year, and still very, very nice!

Drouhin Laroze, M. Ilan, old Sauternes & Ports (JV's): Ruby in color. The nose has some cherries and not much depth. On the palate, there are some cherries here but also a green vegetal note. It did not improve a lot with air. It is a fine enough Pinot for drinking, but I expected more complexity from a Grand Cru.
