  Pre-Easter Long Lunch - Older Napa Cabs (Amuse Bouche, 22/F Hennessey Centre, Wan Chai, Hong kong): Quickly opened, poured and drank within an hour towards the end of a long afternoon.....to be fair, we didn't give it any proper contemplation but on the other hand it failed to impress any personality on us. I wrote "unmemorable", which might be shorthand for too young.

  Transparent dark garnet. Leather, hung game, and dried leaves cloak a core of sweet raspberry fruit. The fruit gains more brilliance on the palate where it is highlighted by succulent, juicy acidity. Medium tannin content, ripe and smooth. Smoked venison and cherry compote linger on the finish.

  Mixed Bag... (Roberts House, Philadelphia PA): clear, medium (-) ruby color. youthful, medium (-) intensity nose shows intoxicating spice box, caramel, and earth notes, with some dark fruit -- pomegranate and raspberry. dry palate shows medium body, medium (-) tannin, medium (+) acidity, and medium intensity flavors of spice, red and black berry fruit. medium finish shows nice acid and sophisticated berry fruit flavors. excellent quality -- still very youthful, this will age effortlessly.
