What a surprise. Was expecting tired, faded barolo. Instead wonderful, aromatic and textured old nebbiolo. Hits way above its price point. Gentle spice and red fruit with hints of tar. Paired great with wild boar bolognese. Very little bricking with deep purple color. Well made. Wish i had more.

A: Pale garnet (medium for instructor) N: Pronounced Intensity. Rose, red cherry, leather, undergrowth and game. Developing P: Dry. High acid, medium (+) tannin, high alcohol, medium (+) body, medium intensity, medium (-) finish. C: Want more fruit to balance the tannin and acid. Will give a tick for complexity, however. Not scoring for Length or Intensity. Its an Acceptable Quality wine.Drink now, don't age. It needs more fruit here to become something more interesting after 5 years.

Popped, decanted for 30 minutes then followed for 3 hours. This is a good to very good entry level Barolo. The flavor profile is classic barolo, but on the light side, especially the fruit. Earth, forest floor, creosote, some saddle leather and dark cherry, but the cherry didn't come out for a few hours. There are still some harsh tannins at the mid and back of the palate and this could use a few more years in the bottle. Color is dark red with no signs of bricking. Nose is a bit hot with not a lot there. I paid about $35, which is OK, but I would not want to pay much more.

Incredibly unimpressive. Plum nose, tannic in the mouth with one-dimensional flavors, even after two hour decant. Not flawed, this was flat and the most boring Barolo I've ever tasted.
