Huge, beautiful, somewhat farmy (the Germans have a nice word - Landesgeruch, the "scent of the country air"). Still powerfully structured after all these years.
Violet, rose, cherry, and a great midpalate depth. Long, flavorful finish.
A wonderful wine. Could probably age for several (many?) more years
