Leather, iodine, salt water, herbs, cherry and cherry compote, remnants of tannin. The bitter finish is a little too aggressive. This is very good, savory-sweet, but mostly savory. Has an old school vibe.
Edit 10/24: Decanted for an hour and drunk most of the bottle over the course of another hour on day one. Stuck the last glass in the fridge and had it tonight with leftovers. Bitterness gone. Still has the old-school thing going. Went from being comfortably good to good++. Very impressive.

probably waited too long on this....over the hill like characteristics. rust colored, dead fruit...gains weight and color over a few hours...but disjointed at best. perfectly stored after retail purchase. I have better luck when I drink "normal" brunellos within 8 - 10 years of vintage

Nice wine even after 14 years. Classic Sangiovese burnt brick color. Notes of cherries and tobacco. Medium bodied and high acidity. Rather straight laced. Enjoyable but not memorable.
