  • Consumed at Fattoria dei Barbi over a wine visit lunch at the taverna. Beautiful funky old Brunello. Dried cherries. Olives. Cooked plums. Gorgeous brick brown color. Velvety smooth. A privilege to drink.

  • Very savoury nose of teak, leather, balsamic, mushroom and earth. All of the savoury things continue on the palate and has some floral nuance with air. It gains chocolatey sweetness and has decent grip. Drinking nicely.

  • Gammal, förmodligen lite oxidation, ingen frukt kvar men ändå struktur i vinet

  • drank sept 10th, 2011 in a restaurant outside of barolo. perfect cork and fill. a healthy amount of sediment but nothing to worry about. decanted for 30 min and consumed over dinner
color - very pale with good bricking with a watery rim and a semi deep core.
nose - started off quite tight and hesitant. after 45 min or so, it started to show mature notes of cherry, a little must but over all really pretty and clean fruit. on the other hand not overly complex.
palate - like the nose, this was held back and not giving up much. tannins are integrated and the acidity is at a high pitch frequency. the fruit is surely fading on this. the length is quite nice but not haunting. there are notes of sour cherries, a light tobacco and even a little kirsch. and would have been a lot nicer 5 to 7 years ago. if you have these.... drink up. it is fine, but is in the ER. this went beautiful with rabbit cooked over the fire place and a simple risotto with black truffles. DO NOT take this with roasted game of heavy sauces, it will get lost. i am not rating this because it already had it's day.
