Dark garnet with some clearing at rim. Lush bouquet of plum, and cherry. Tertiary flavours mingling with dark cherry dominate palate, with fine tannins and sandalwood notes on medium final. Medium bodied, acidity a bit high to my tastes.
I am not a huge fan of Sangiovese, finding it too acidic and thin in many cases. This was still on the thin side, but I appreciated the balance and complexity here more than I usually do. A pleasant surprise given the reviews I have seen here and I feel giving this a full 15 years post-vintage was the right move.

Enjoyed this more than I expected to based on reviews. Popped and poured, this opened up quickly, showing dark fruit and tobacco. Dry and tart, the finish was pleasantly long. An hour and a half after opening it was already starting to fade, so drink up.

Made from 100% Sangiovese, this wine is aged in Slavonian oak for more than two years. Ruby red in colour, this wine shows roasted capsicum, black olive and tobacco characters on the nose. The palate shows blackberry fruit, earth and a subtle hint of vanilla. Smooth finish. Not one of the best years (3/5 stars from the Association of Brunello producers), but still a lovely wine. Drink now.

Ruby colour, some bricking. Nose of ripe black fruit and some floral hints. Slightly lean and acidic on the palate. Short, drying, finish. Classic sangiovese in the bad sense of the word. Adstringent and lean. Not recommended.
If you have some, enjoy the aroma's they are still quite nice!
