Mountbatten wine exchange program with YB. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon, green pear, nectared flowers, steely minerality, gingery spice. Touch of salted butter with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon curd, green pear, unripe ginger spice, butter cream, chalky limestone and salt minerality. Long finish. Very good quality. Doesn't have layers of complexity ?yet?, not integrated, but it has a lovely textured quality about the mouth-feel. I like the nose on this too. Approachable with some air now, though I think it holds good promise for the future. Hold for another 3+ years if you have this in cellar. +1 point for future potential. Bouchard's monopole.

2015 Bouchard Père & Fils Dinner (Herrington Inn, Geneva): Light straw yellow color. Really bright and focused. Aromas of mineral, apple and lemony citrus. The palate mirrors the bouquet; lively and bright. Nice tension with a good finish. 91+ for me, 92-93 for Domino.

Popped and poured, beautiful straw/gold. Atypical (as in unexpected for white Burgundy), yet flat-out lovely aromas of ripe pear, ripe lemon, orange blossom, lifted florals, candied ginger and just a touch of vanilla-spice from oak. Shows a bit of heft in mouth, with decent concentration and moderate acidity wrapped within a silken mouthfeel (would assume this underwent full malo?). In a word, yummy - think luscious fruits that veer tropical complimented by hints of oak-spice. And although somewhat lacking in complexity, the end result is a seamless expression of texture, balance and length that's truly impressive -- did I mention YUMMY? An absolutely delicious wine, drink now and over the next 3-5 years (and/or much longer, assuming premox doesn't factor into the aging equation...).
Quick comment: Chablis this absolutely is not - that said, serve this to anyone who isn't thinking beyond California for high(er)-end chard and enjoy the show when their mind starts expanding into France right before your very eyes...

PNP at home with friends. Mature tropical notes, good acid, and long finish. A real treat, open now through 2024 for optimal fruit and acid balance.
