Had the 2013 before and it was very closed, need more 10-15 years to start showing the beauty of this Monopole. The 2002 (even needing more 2-5 years of aging) its a classic old Burgundy style, complex, deep, wood and alcohol very integrated with the wine, extremely long finish and high acidity. Best regards from Thomas

Bouchard Père et Fils Premier and Grand Crus (Beaune, France): Coravin bottle. Medium yellow, very good color for its age. Rich, slightly tropical scents. Round, glycerine peach and pear fruit with enough acidity to bind things. Much bigger and oakier than the Meursault. Its creaminess is cut off by the wood. Very much alive and interesting, but the elevage seems heavyhanded.

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Clos St.Landry) Just down-slope from Drouhin's Clos de la Mouche is a vineyard full of white chalky stones, a vineyard that suits whites better than reds. Since 1985 it has been bottled separately from the Beaune 1er Clos du Chateau. A soft nose, complex and interesting, mixing both blossom and melony fruit. Nice easy drinking, complex on the palate too, the acidity shows a deft touch. Rather nice.
