Striking yellow gold colour in the glass. Creamy, complex nose dominated by developed notes of dried apricot, nougat, ginger and nutmeg but still remarkably fresh with touches of fresh peach, pear and grilled pineapple. A slight dip in intensity on the medium to full bodied palate with lovely fresh acidity. Intensity ramps back up on the long, evolving finish with persistant dried pear, toasted hazelnuts and nutmeg spice. Drink now.
WSET notes:
Medium gold.
Pronounced on the nose with pear, peach, lemon zest butter, cream, honey, grilled pineapple, nougat, dried apricot, dried apple, ginger, flint, nutmeg and toasted hazlenuts. Fully developed.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Medium plus body, high acidity, medium alcohol, long finish.
Drink now. Not suitable for aging or further aging.

Hawksmoor Monday (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Had been double decanted a couple of hours prior to drinking. Pale straw colour, on the nose - muted - the kind of grassy "I can tell it's chardonnay but not a great deal more" nose. On the palate - much more open - not flabby but definitely generous. Became a bit more multi-dimensional with food.

SnP; in very fresh condition. Really tasty and fairly complex wine with developed secondary qualities. I'd say this is at, or perhaps just slightly past its apogee; has another 5+ years at this level, no problem. Medium>med+ body, medium hay color that's clear and bright, with more white Burgundy trappings - at first - than there were some two hours later, as the bottle was finished. Perfect ringer for white Burg blind tasting - more so with some maturity on it. For my palate, it just slips into the highly recommended category, though my guests would not hesitate for a moment to place it there.
Kumeu River Round Table (Knightsbridge, Northbrook IL): Nose: The nose is well balanced, aromatic, and refined with red apples, custard, vanilla beans, oranges, quince, pears, mineral notes, and stone fruits. There is excellent depth with a layering effect and maturity to the tones.
Taste: Full bodied with medium+ acidity. The acidity is well balanced and beautifully integrated while the feel is textured and refined with red apples, custard, oranges, quince, stone fruits, minerals, and some smoke tones.
Overall: This is a beautiful and mature Chardonnay. It is drinking at its peak right now, but there is plenty there for it to age further. It shows off class and depth across the nose and palate with an excellent mix of primary and secondary tones.
