Quite light on the nose, displaying aromas of tart green apple, caramel, some floral notes, along with a hint of mandarin peel. Clean and fresh. This shows more depth on the crisp palate, with notes of pear, green apples, toffee, a dose of ginger spice, and a good amount of tart lemon juice. Searing acidity, capped off with a long finish and some tart lemon and steely notes at the end. Good.
A big, wonderful full nose on this, displaying aromas of stewed pear, caramel, toasty yeast, salty toffee, and rich red apples. The aged characteristics are setting in on both nose and the palate, which exhibits rich stewed red apples, more caramel, a hefty dose of yeast, and a solid tart crispness in the form of lime peel and lemon oil. Dense mousse, along with a medium+ finish and notes of tart lemon at the end. I really enjoyed how this is drinking right now. Very good.

Huge nose, showing aromas of burnt match stick, petrol, rubber tires, sulfur, and lemon juice. More sulfur is evident on the palate, along with more lemon juice, petrol, red apples, tart green apple, and some steely notes. A touch of sweetness compliments the medium acidity. Long finish, ending with notes of lemon peel. Showing some nice aged Riesling characteristics on both the nose and palate, this has evolved nicely. I always enjoy the Tantalus Rieslings, and I consider them a nice buy at their price point. Good.

Quite full on the nose, showing rich aromas of lemon peel, green apple, petrol, match stick, sulfur, along with a touch of anise. Crisp and dry on the palate, displaying a solid amount of tart lemon juice, as well as green apple, sulfur, and some steely notes. Medium length finish, ending with notes of lemon juice. Tasted along side the 06 Tantalus (non old vine) this was clearly much fresher and carrying a lot more acidity. Good.
Huge and extracted on the nose, showing a ton of cassis, along with blueberries, black cherries, blackberry jam, and clove spice. Cassis follows through and dominates the inky concentrated palate, along with black cherry, blackberry, anise, clove, blueberry, and a touch of mint. Medium acidity, with a fair amount of dry dusty tannins. Long finish, ending on a note of black cherry. Very ripe, and lacking the character that I expect from Bordeaux. That said, it's well made and enjoyable. Good.
Crisp nose, displaying lots of tart lemon peel, along with a touch of sulfur, steel, and some minerality. Ripe and simple on the palate, showing more minerality, wet stones, lemon juice, and some white peach. While being a touch flabby, it's a straight forward easy drinker. Medium length finish, with medium acidity. OK.
Lots of grassy character on the nose, along with some lemon-lime citrus, sweet lychee, minerals, and some floral characteristics. The palate showed very similar to the nose, displaying more lemongrass, lychee, floral notes, minerals, yet with the addition of some melon and cantaloupe flavors. Medium length tart finish. Quite simple and straightforward, and lacked any real excitement. OK.
Solid gold colour in the glass, this bottle showed quite a bit more aged character than the last bottle tasted back in April of this year. This opened up with generous aromas of lychee, melon, wet rocks, caramel, salty toffee, and a solid amount of sweet honey. On the palate this showed ripe pear, cantaloupe, honey, and some caramel. Ripe, layered and complex, this was delicious. Long, sweet finish. Very good.
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Massive ripe nose, displaying aromas of rich blueberry pie, black plums, chocolate, mint, and a ton of black pepper spice. Inky on the palate, exhibiting more dark fruits in the form of black cherry and black plums, tar, along with the same prominent showing of spice as in clove and black pepper. Still a ton of tannin, with medium+ acidity. Long finish, ending with notes of clove and black pepper. Drinking well now, but could use another year or two to really come together. Good.
An intoxicating nose exhibiting layers of violet floral notes, sweet oak, minerals, crushed stones, and what I can only describe as latex, but in a positive sense. Complex on the palate, displaying lemon oil, white flowers, a touch of tart tangerine zest, and some more oak peeking through. Long finish, ending with notes of lemon juice and a touch of oak. Full bodied and delicious. Very good.
Not sure if it was just this bottle, but this was showing quite different than it was a year ago when I last tried it. The nose was dominated by Roquefort - blue cheese, along with caramel, smokey oak, ocean mist, and salty toffee. The blue cheese carries through on the palate, as well as tart lemon oil, burnt oak, and crushed rocks. Long+ finish, ending with notes of oak and lemon juice. This has tons of depth and stuffing and needs a few years to really shine, but this is stacked on the finish and I'm sure has its best years ahead. Very good.
A seductive nose of fresh honey, peaches, dried apricots, candied lemon peel, as well as caramel and white flowers. The honey notes carry through on the palate, along with a good amount of orange zest, cantaloupe, caramel, white flowers, as well as some nutty characteristics. Long finish, ending with notes or caramel and orange peel. Delicious, but would be more enjoyable if this carried a bit more acidity. Good.
