Intense purple colour. Crushed dark fruits, spices, some black pepper and cake tones in nose. On the full bodied palate still closed. But fresh red fruits, some kirsch tones and well integrated tannins noted. Best to wait 3-5 years but very enjoyable now too.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Surprisingly translucent brick colour (originally estimated an age of at least 20-25 years). Beautifully fragile bouquet with raisins, prune and some forest tones. Well matured palate with vanilla, herbs, little berries and medicine box tones with long lingering aftertaste. Bit confusing to me on its age (far developed) but love it!
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Powerful nose with thick ripe red fruits, young and promising. Thick dark fruits, licorice and cake on the well delineated palate with a long finish. More than the (undervalued?) vintage would suggest. 92+ needs more time
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dark purple color. Fresh young dark sweet fruits, licorice and iodine splashing out of the glass. Complex, dense and rich on the palate with thick dark fruits and many tannins. Should have a long life. 95+
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dark purple and intense color. Powerful nose with young dark fruits. Concentrated and thick on the palate, still young - needs time to shape up, lots of tannins well integrated. Promising. 93+
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Nearly black purple color. Loads of kirsch and spices-cake tones on the nose. Elegant and very powerful, cherries, licorice and soft integrated tannins on the very well balanced palate. One of the best wines of the evening, bit more monolithic than Pegau at the moment. 95+
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Top three of the evening, probably number One. Medium dark purple color. Intriguing nose with earth, truffle, blood, roasted meat, kirsch and crushed dark fruits, all very attractive. Highly concentrated and nearly syrupy on the palate with lots of dark fruits, iodine and meat. All well delineated, very well balanced and integrated. Needs 10 years. 96+
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Orange on the brim. Red fruits and earth tones on the nose. Medicine box, earth and fruits on the palate. Shows a lot older than you would expect. Drying on the finish. Better finish soon.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Orange color. Bubblegum and mandarin orange notes in the sweet nose. On the palate confusing, process of a Muscat BdV made wine come to the mind. Drying finish. No rating since I'm not sure what to think about this bottle.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Translucent orange color. Raisins in nose and on the palate, more like a Port style wine. Not very impressed and I suppose this is related to the heat.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Medium red color. Still fairly closed but showing great promises. Spices, kirsch and more dark fruits in the nose. Palate beautifully complex, elegant and powerful. Long lingering. Suggest to start drinking in another 5 years. One of the better wines of the evening. 95+
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Medicine box, earth, laurel/ herbs and prosciutto/ Parma-ham tones in the nose. Mature on the palate, herbs and spices. Has the style of a beautifully fragile Burgundy on the palate. Very attractive, 95 points.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Didn't really impress me between other Papes like Charvin, Beaucastel and Pegau 2010. Dark color. Over ripe on the palate.
