Deep yellow color. Aromas of lemon oil, citrus and roasted nuts. Fine bead with softened acidity and flavors of cashew, sauteed apples, pineapple and- yes this is odd but certainly there- pork barbeque dry rub. Interesting, to say the least. It got better as it sat, with the spice rub qualities taking a back seat to the fruit.
Aromas of toast, apple, almond and yeast. Toasted apple and beeswax flavors. Brioche and orchard fruit lasts through the finish. Medium bead with nice acidity.
Typical Roederer, with the toasty overtones. Orchard fruit and sweet green apple with brioche, yeast and toasted marshmallow tones. Lovely; I do enjoy the toast here.
Opens with nice doughy notes followed by marzipan, pear and orchard fruit. Honey, almond, apple and dough flavors with a long finish. Drinking very well right now.
Aromas of clay, chalk, lemon, apple and ginger. Fine bead with bright acidity and flavors of mineral, ginger and orchard fruit. Lovely and bright, with a terrific minerality on the finish.
Light color with notes of marshmallow and green apple, with citrus- lemon- undertones. Lovely fruit on the palate with a nice vanilla quality on the finish.
Opens with an aroma akin to chicken bouillon cubes- odd. Much better on the palate though, with candied lemon and ginger followed b orchard fruit and a soft toasty quality.

H brought this for dinner and had decanted it ahead of time though I do not know for how long. Garnet color with a lovely bouquet featuring dark fruit and berry with overtones of meat and salami and a wild, feral edge. Red currants and berry for on the palate, with meat and spice notes on the finish.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Decanted for an hour or so, if that, this wasn't as expressive or complete as a bottle opened last month by Wine Sparty. Dark fruit and spice tones on the nose and palate. Nicely balanced across the palate, ending with good length and flavors of red berries and meat.

Double decanted briefly off its sediment and served blind to the group about three hours later. Deep crimson color, this displayed no signs of age. The bouquet featured a mix of red and black currants, cedar and mint, turning to dark fruit as it sat in the glass. Leather and tobacco notes also appeared. Well-balanced and fully-integrated in terms of tannins, this is drinking beautifully. Red and black fruit, herbs and mint flavors with a long finish. Most guesses started at Bordeaux, and then moved toward Bordeaux-styled producers from other regions. Well-stored bottles such as this one should continue to drink well for 3-5 more years before beginning to fade. 93-94 pts.
Aromas of chocolate, currants and plum. Full-bodied with velvety tannins and flavors that mirror the bouquet. Nice finish, with plenty of fruit and depth.
From magnum, courtesy of R&D. Florals, red and black fruits, plum and incense aromas. Has some tannin to shed in this format, but it is balanced by a wealth of red fruit. Ends with plum and spice tones. Finishes with good length.
