Dark core, some clarity, brighter maroon rim; black pepper, white pepper, plum, very floral, violets and red flowers, aromatic but still good depth, smoky cherry; more red fruit- lots of cherry on palate, decent structure but lacks a little punch; good.
Garnet crimson to rim, some clarity; vegetables, compost, dirt, dusty, currant, holly bush; wet earth, Bordeaux, red currant, firm grip, good acid but tannins win, drinkable, shorter finish, slight chocolate covered cherry; thought this was newer R. Bank as it seemed a little disjointed though all thought it was not showing its best.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Nuits Villages
Very light dark red with paler rim; a little warm, dusty mineral, sour red cherry, tea, oak has just integrated; firm, tense, cherry liqueur, high toned finish; very good and well made, a softer vintage made this Bachalet really accessible.
Good clarity, crimson core with paler rim; sour cherry, roses, soft raspberry, herbs de Provence; jammy raspberry, gingerbread, intense Grenache, sappy, very fruity with strong bitter, mineral, good structure, youthful; very good.
Garnet core, some clarity; herbal, raspberry, sappy tart cherry, boquet garni, nori, slight vanilla; garrigue, bitter Grenache fruit, sappy, nice balance, youthful, weightier, vanilla cherry and raspberry; delicious, better than the du Terme just before; should age really well.
See through crimson, bright red rim; wow- lots of toasty new oak but unmistakably Bordeaux, oak is sexy rather than intrusive, coffee, compost, red currant, spicy palate, funky, cigar, softer tannin, like its drinkability, actually drinkable now.
Cloudy; smells terrible, vegetal, leather, musty, sandy; terrible; not sure whether it was cooked, not exactly sure of provenance, didn't seem to be volatile.
Dull brick core with orange rim; Nebbiolo, soy, caraway, tar, roses, menthol, cedar, sour cherry, cranberry, caramel; softer tannin, seems aged, sweet fruit, brown sugar, cherry, very linear; was on a warm vintage Barbaresco like 2003, even more advanced than I expected.
Bright red to rim; very 2011 with almost harsh pyrazine, old school, earth; rose, cherry, strawberry, stems, shorter finish, sweet strawberry finish; ok; thought 2011 Gallois Gevrey.
