Silex 08 on the other hand had a powerful nose with volume and force. Very rich, sumptuous palate with generous exotic fruit and more sweetness than expected.
Elegant limestone nose with hints of stony citrus. Amazing tension, refined acidity and that classic fine minerality from start to finish. Magnificent and refined long.
Sweet fully mature nose displaying toffee, dried fruit and hints of sherry. On the palate no bubbles left but some strong acidity and freshness, changing in the glass into complex aged flavors with truffle, baked apple and toasted brioche. Impressive and a great treat!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Bottle No 99 from only 292 bottles made ! Classic Leroy nose, exotic and intense. Taste of boiled raspberry candy, forest mushrooms with super concentrated flavours. On the finish amazing textures and delicious complexity. Impossible to find and Incredible for a village wine!
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Intense bright candied red fruit driven palate with nicely integrated tannins and acids. Ripe but not sweet and will age gracefully. Delicate and very inviting now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru
This is an expressive wine that will please just about everyone. It has trademark spices, piercing fruit, sweet, sexy, velvety and a great finish. Lovely wine with great charm!
Intensely perfumed blackcurrant and black olives. On the palate expressive but less concentrated with fine grained tannin and espresso notes. Drinking nicely now.
Earth, black fruit and tobacco aromas. The palate has become more refined then a few years ago with juicy tannins, wonderful complex earth and fruit concentration on the powerful finish.
Subtle black dark fruit aromas. Polished palate, nicely integrated fine tannins and silky structure. With delicious cedar, leather and dark fruit. Wonderful drinking now and showing what Pichon is all about.
A bit shy on the nose. The palate is concentrated with good strong tannins, leather and fresh dark fruit, nicely structured with good depth but less polished now than the Pichon. This impressive late release Ducru is just at the beginning of its long life!
A more mineral expression with refined ripe peach, citrus and refreshing acidity. The finish is refined and long. A young and delicious versteigerung spätlese with very good potential.
