Introduction

Bourgogne tasting at the small backyard retail shop of Nobbi (Norbert) Müller at the Schanzenviertel, one of the hipster quarters of Hamburg.

This shop has to be highly recommended for trading some of the finest burgundy estates with the Nobbi personal touch for very reasonable prices.
Opened only three days a week for alltogether eleven hours. So if you want to make an attempt visit his homepage for further information.

My brief notes are showing my honest opinion of the today condition of the tasted bottles and my view of their possible evaluation.

Flight 1 (11 Notes)

  • 2015 Château Thivin Beaujolais Clos de Rochebonne 87 Points

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais

Very fine floral nose, starting with a whiff of pinapple, very delicate, high ABV 14%, but well integrated, good texture with depth, ending fresh and mineralic, a tasty bottle, drink now and the next 2-3 years, **+, 86-88

  • 2014 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Bourgogne 86 Points

    France, Burgundy, Bourgogne

Tart nose, some slightly roasty aromas, palate some blackberry, a little harsh and at the moment dominating tannin, therefore lacking balance, quite long, will improve by some years in the cellar, good wine for what it is, (**-+?), 85-87+

  • 2014 Domaine Sylvain Pataille Bourgogne Le Chapitre 88 Points

    France, Burgundy, Bourgogne

  • 2014 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Morey St. Denis En la Rue de Vergy 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis

Starting a little roasty with some spicy aromas, quite harmonic for such a young wine showing black berry fruit, layered with some depth, ending fresh and long, delicious now but will benefit from 5- 10+ years in the cellar, *(**+), 88- 91?

  • 2014 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

starting subtle on the palate, very harmonic for such a young premier cru, showing red berry with some spicy and mineralic aromas, appears to be a lightweight wine because of this smoothness and silky appearance, but ending long and persistent with supporting acidity, most harmonic wine of this tasting, a very charming bottle, will benefit from 5-10 years in the cellar, **(*+), 89- 91+

  • 2014 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

More concentrated nose as the premier cru blend from the same estate, strong fragrance of black berry, herbal with meaty aromas, quite harmonic though, great layered depth, fine ripe tannin, persistent gentle midweight wine, ending firm but very long and delicious, could be easily enjoyed now but will definitely benefit from 5- 10 years+ in the cellar, **(**), 90-93?

  • 2014 Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots 91 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru

Starting with a slightly roasty nose, spicy black berry, enormous persistence, midweight body with great richness, still very young therefore lacking some harmony at the moment, ending fresh, long+ and saline with supporting acidity, has to evolve, for the next decade++, *(***), 90-93+?

  • 2014 Domaine Lignier-Michelot Clos de la Roche 94 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru

Lucious fragrance of ripe black berry, great depth on the midpalate, young therefore strong but ripe tannin, enormous persistence with layered flavours of berry, violet and herbs, ending dense but silky in an impressive long+ finish, very tasty now but will definetly benefit from a decade+ in the cellar, *(***+),92-95+?

  • 2014 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Bonnes Mares 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

Slightly starting gruff and unevolved, a lot more richness on the midpalate as the premier crus (apart from the none tasted Les Amoreuses) of this estate, showing tart fruit, some sour cherry, very subdued with great depth, ending very savoury and long+, having a lot of potencial in the glass right now, for the next decade++, (****+), 92-95+?

  • 2010 Domaine Bertheau (Pierre et François) Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Last wine of that tasting, tasted blind, we were told to taste a 2010 vintage bottle of one of the wines we had before, ripe fruit nose with some compote, opened up wine at the young age of six, silky and attractive on the midpalate, gentle red fruit, quite persistent and elegant long finish, obviously a burgundy lover crowd pleaser! Very good wine for what it is, **+(*), 89-91?

Closing

A very ambitious tasting of Nobbi today. Just to have an impression of great burgundys wines. Cause you cannot purchase all bottles of them!
