Opaque core with crimson rim; green olive, green pepper, red fruit, rhubarb, funk; was in Chile, not bad though, tastes like higher end Bordeaux blend.
See through garnet maroon, brighter color; blueberries, sweet raspberry, dusty, tobacco, cherries, cedar, roses; easier tannin, good ripeness, very youthful; seemed Italian to me; very nice.
Opaque core with maroon rim; blueberry, density obvious from nose, dusty, oak spice, blackberry, balm, more modern, slight brown sugar, fresh fruit; slight tar note, black fruit, cedar, spice, good restraint, herbs, some green sour plum, oak, dark fruit, pencil lead; a bit pent up still; called Giusto di Notri.
A very small pour, got to the tasting late; dark dull maroon, lots of sediment; nose is blowing, plenty of age, mushroom, decaying fruit, wet earth, truffles galore, red fruit, spice, close, sexy, nose explodes from glass, plum, wild berry; good freshness on the palate, again strong mushroom with softer aged fruit; very interesting and well stored bottle; elixir, I could have smelled this all day; I was apparently closer than many with the '75 Pichon Lalande call.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Bright see through ruby; very bright nose, candied cherry, reduced just a bit, high toned, touch of spice; some sappiness, tart and wild strawberry and cherry, very red fruit, white rock in background, sweet fruit, cranberry, long flavorful finish; what's not to like about this?; fooled everyone as Cote de Nuits again.
Not too different from previous note; dark crimson core with lighter rim, clarity; lots of oak spice, exotic and luxurious, roses, tar, medicinal, mint, licorice, very complex; sweet cherry, roses, cedar, good sappiness and weight in the mid palate, cinnamon, wrap of tannin, mouthfilling, great balance; complete and delicious, really showing well possibly better and more youthful than bottle in January; called Conterno-Fantino but was on '06.
Dark maroon core with bright rim; after almost 2 hours of air this was showing much better than earlier tasting notes, black pepper, oak, sexy, dusty mineral, wild plum, smoked meat, plump and enticing nose; good harmony between the tannin and acid, some nice fat to the body, spicy, juicy with a smoldering core of dark fruit, plush and round; some in NW when tasted earlier but this was hard to miss as Northern Rhone, called '12 Chapoutier Greffieux due to lack of rusticity at this point.
More amber color; sexy nose, oak, spice, pulpier spiced pear and apple, waxy, mineral, beeswax, darker rock; a wall of fruit initially on the palate, waxy, pear, melon, white flower, oily texture, fresh but not high acid, more muted fruit profile, white fruit; not as generous a wine as I'd expect based on other notes, maybe going a bit dumb?; opened up a bit with help of food.
Very light red, see through, paler rim; very light floral, a touch horsey, almost smells natural, fresh wild strawberry, watermelon, agree with the ethereal notes from others; very pale and Burgundian, a touch grippy and green quality to the tannin, seems very cool climate, cranberry, tart wild strawberry, whole cluster, a little linear but that is Pommard to me; called Trousseau nowhere near this age; really interesting and tasty.
Light crimson ruby, see through, pale rim; sweet red cherry, cherry pit, fine tannin, good grip, very nice, good but a bit awkward, kind of dumb as my previous note suggested.
Dark core with maroon rim; olive tapenade, mineral, blowing, sour cranberry, earth, granite, stank, green, black pepper, mushroom, bacon fat, smoky, very tart which I found a little fierce but others would have put this as their WOTN; everyone in N. Rhone.

Wine started off smelling ok but the cork taint really came through on the palate which was kind of weird.
