France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
As ripe and rich as the last bottle from the same case opened one year ago, but far more mature. Good power and concentration, but slightly more advanced than Grand Cru should be at this age.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Black and red cherry with spice hints and good weight. Not as forthcoming as another bottle from earlier this year, this wine would benefit from more time open or even decanting.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Black fruit came across more Gevrey-like than Chambolle, with good weight and concentration. Still somewhat firm, I like the overall potential but think this needs more cellar time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Black cherry and berry with moderate weight and power, very good spice and finesse. Good now, but I expect there will be upside as this evolves and picks up weight. First time tasted since pre-release, when visiting the domaine in 2010.
Served blind as an unknown Bordeaux, this shows its age appropriately with a good balance of earth, mushroom, tannins and rich black cherry and plum. Good right now, probably limited upside.
Opened several hours in advance with some decanter time. Rich and intense black fruit, very good weight, length and balance. Got better with more time in glass. Probably my top wine of the lunch, with upside from here.
Tasted blind as a n "unknown" Bordeaux. Clearly from a ripe vintage with tannins starting to resolve, I thought this from 2000. Accessible and nicely rich while well balanced. Better today vs when last tasted in 2011.

Apple, pear and some poached pear hints. Starts out somewhat lean, finishing with more richness and concentration. Very good already now.

Very ripe showing black plum, cassis and pronounced chocolate and vanilla. Still firm, still backward. Upside from here, I'd say better 2020-.
