These are only the wines that I took any notes for. There were many other wines that didn't warrant any notes. Despite my usual negative attitude, this really was a lot of fun to do.
2012 Rivers-Marie Pinot Noir Gioia Vineyard 89 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
Pop and pour. This seemed rather heavy. Dark fruit. Maybe needed a decant, and maybe served at a cooler temperature than 55F.

2012 Shea Wine Cellars Pinot Noir Homer Shea Vineyard 92 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Drank a SMALL pour at a tasting. Really enjoyable and noteworthy. I very well may have scored higher if I'd had a full glass or more. Oregon with structure. Nice pep. It's a shame that this is $70+.

2012 Adelsheim Pinot Noir Temperance Hill 86 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills
A small pour at a tasting. Surprisingly uninteresting, although not offensive. Blind, I guessed Oregon. A touch of spice. Boring.

2012 Archery Summit Pinot Noir Red Hills Estate 90 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
A small pour at a blind tasting. Nothing wrong with this, but not very complex. Floral, rich ripe fruit, tannin, good structure, lots of acid.

2012 Archery Summit Pinot Noir Arcus Estate 92 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
A small pour at a blind tasting. Quite enjoyable. Good structure and acid. Not that complex, but nice to drink. I see these wines as being well-balanced and enjoyable, but not ponderous or reflective.

2012 Cameron Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge 85 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
Drank a small pour at a blind tasting. This reminded me of pinotage. There's a burning rubber smell and flavor going on. After taking a sip, I was wondering if there was possibly something wrong with my glass, but the scowl from the woman sitting next to me confirmed that it was the wine.

2012 Archery Summit Pinot Noir Premier Cuvée 87 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Drank a small pour at a tasting. This wine was surprisingly tired. Big, old and dull.

2012 Occidental Pinot Noir Cuvée Catherine Occidental Station 92 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
Drank a small pour at a blind tasting. This was the surprise of the night for me. I'm not a fan of Kistler, but this Pinot was delightful. Lively, not heavy at all, great pep and structure. It did drink on the young side. It was enjoyable regardless. Unfortunately, once again the theme of the night is that these domestic luxury priced pinots do not measure up to their price tag.
