Disgorged 31 March 2003. Apple, celery, toast, earth, musk and pear. Very good freshness, with an acidity drive that gives the fruit good persistence. Medium depth, this is mostly about the brightness at the moment. Another couple of years would have done this no harm.
Finger limes, straw, apricot, sea spray and a floral botanical quality to it that is quite interesting. Clean and precise on the palate, more purity than the complex interest on the nose. I think this will do well with further age.
Honey, smoky, earth, ginger and roses on the nose. The palate has rounded out, with mild acidity but really good depth and tasty honeyed fruit. Really composed and delicious drinking now.
White and yellow florals, grapefruit, orange and lemon pith. Quite ripe on the palate, with some tropical elements coming through. Mid depth, full but still retains some freshness. Drink now to 10 years.
Mango, honey, orange peel, peach and hay. Soft fruit on the palate, but the acid cuts well through the middle - open and ripe, this is a nice contrast to the more restrained Chardonnay that is in vogue right now. Drink over the next 5 years.

Blind. Pineapple, peach, orange, white florals and graphite. Plenty of weight on the palate, with deep tropical fruit and a good line of acidity. Complex, with real interest and very good structure. The best bottle of this wine that I've had since release.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Blind. Lemon, white florals, tangerine and pineapple. Quite viscous on the palate, with a light mineral chacter, the fruit weight giving it power. Texture is quite good, though it isn't overly deep. Surprised to find out what this was but I still like it.
AP 08. Lemon and pear, orange and musk aromas. Good mix of acidity and sweetness on the palate, lacks a touch of depth at the moment. Not in nearly as good a place as the Graacher Domprost Spatlese 15 we tried about half a year ago, but still has potential to improve.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru
Herbal nose and not much else happening. Palate is short and astringent. Is it low level stripped/corked? Certainly too different from other bottles I've had to be representative.
Earthy and charcoal notes on the nose. Palate is tiring, there is a touch of fruit but this is lacking structure. Faded away quickly with air. Worth a shot!
Tar, cherry, blackcurrant, ripe blackberry and some oak on the nose. Has good structure to counter the ripeness of the fruit, though the oak shows through a fair bit here as well. Some more savoury elements may come with time and that would help the interest levels quite a bit. See in 3-4 years.
Tobacco, mint, briar, stalk, cherry, smoky ash, spice, cedar and leather - delightfully complex. Rich on the palate, with the savoury elements blending in well and fine tannins stitching it all together - there is a bit of everything in this - Bordeaux, Burgundy, Barolo - just has an incredible amount going on. Superb!

Chocolate, cherry, tobacco, ash and cedar. Lovely resolution, there is excellent balance and the structure is still holding everything together, red fruits are still present. Lovely old wine.
Cherry, floral lift, spice and pepper with some blackcurrant as well. Has good fruit on the palate to give it a bit of approachability but it doesn't sacrifice structure. Good length and should develop well.
Opened 24 hours prior. Tar, earth, redcurrant, cherry and ash - deep on both the nose and palate. Rampant tannins take control of the palate, there is plenty of fruit depth and acid but they certainly take a back seat for now. All about the potential for now, I suspect this will be spectacular if given enough time!
Honey, fig, mandarin, orange, pear and a little coffee note. Lovely balance and length, really composed with the acidity bright and the sweetness well integrated. If it had more complexity and depth it would be better, but it was still very good now.
Italy, Veneto, Valpolicella, Recioto della Valpolicella
Sultana, raisin, charcoal, ash, violet and brown sugar. Rounded and sweet on the palate, but there is great freshness and lift from the alcohol and acidity. Super length and immensely tasty.
