'Aged Aussies' Dinner (Joseph's Place, Wong Chung Hang, Hong Kong): Served blind. Silver green/gold. Grassy, fresh mown hay nose, new bicycle inner tubes. Palate is beautifully fresh acidity, citric, moreish. Touch of dry sweetness. Really nice. Apparently this may be an atypically good bottle because the winery had replaced the original cork with a stelvin screwcap at some stage. 92+

Margaret River Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Aromas of honey, slight cork taint, quite performed floral top notes with pretty peach elements. Unfortunately this is a little stripped and bitter on the palate. FLAW

A girl who might have been hot in high school is now doing nothing for you. Even with the makeup that is the gasoline like fumes masking the lack of anything interesting underneath, there is no denying time has washed away what once might have been.

Shockingly good considering it was over the “best drink by date” by many years. This is in stark contrast to another bottle consumed (or tried to) a few days ago. With the last glass it was fading rapidly but I “cheated” by having some blue cheese and crackers with it.

Way over the hill. A waste of a great wine.
