Ripe nose showing wood tones. Lean with some ripe flavors. Like pure lemon juice, even with the tartness. Not sure where this is going. Needs some fatty food to combat the tartness.
Rich, buttery nose. Chalky palate. Dry with a medium body. Not quite up there with the '02 in terms of depth but a very good wine on it's own. I'd love to try some other wines from this house.
The photo on the label includes a dude that looks like Johnny Cash when he was ascending to fame. Floral, huge, complex nose. Not really reminiscent of any Champagne I've ever had. As in you'd think there was something other than Chardonnay or maybe some more experimental wine making. The palate on the other hand was lean and chalky without a lot of expression. A notable wine that I do not believe is really available in the states.
Chalky nose. Lean, hard, grippy palate. More secondary characters than fruit. Something like a lean stemmy red would feel but in a white. Not very approachable.
Huge, soaring nose of bright fruity candies. Grippy palate with leaner fruit qualities. I took a flyer on a couple of these from Envoyer. This really delivers in terms of value. A pretty good wine but at $40 a real bargain. A producer to pay attention to.
Woody nose. Dense fruit on the palate. Lots of grip. Opens more in the glass bringing along some complexity. Pretty. Could benefit from some bottle time I imagine. A good wine from a marginal vintage. Looking forward to trying more from this house.
This let me down. I've usually enjoyed Ruinart wines in the past even if they seem overpriced normally. This came off a bit manufactured and bland. Decent fruit but really outclassed strongly by most everything around it.
Soily nose. Dirty, grippy palate. This is a geek fest. But it was quite nice. I'm not one to go for geeky in Champagne that often but this one hit home.
This one also leaned geekier but also gets it right. Complex nose showing soily notes with wood and some matchstick. Balanced, expressive palate. Impressed.
Happy to get a preview as I bought this wine on reputation. This came off as tight and reserved for the most part. Some berry candy peaking out but I'm going to let my bottle chill for a couple more years.
Reserved nose. Lean and bitter in the way IPA's are. Soily. I likes me some Vilmart but the Rubis bottling has rarely done much for me. This is no exception.

Vanilla flavors. Chalky, sweet fruit. This is bigger and forward. More crowd pleaser than geeky. Tasty though. It wants your attention.

Funky and ripe. The Bouchard wines are often an adventure. I think this one veers off the road a bit.

Woody, chalky nose. Juicy and rich with a lot of fruit. No experience with this producer but I'm taking note. A lot going on for an NV bottle.

Sulfury and meh. I'm guessing this needed air honestly. The '08 non-rose vintage wine is quite good.
