Special International tasting group

The wines were brought to the restaurant months ago. Due to Covid19 the tasting was postponed several times. The sommelier decided in which order the wines were tasted blind. We all brought a wine, and that was the only wine we knew it had to be in the tasting. The rest was a surprise. The person organizing the tasting also ordered a few wines from the restaurant’s wine list.

I don’t know how the wines were treated or how long before they were decanted. The sommelier decided about that.

  Slightly mature bouquet with some mineral notes. On the palate focused and pleasant acidity, some minerals and development again and pleasant bitterness in the finish.

  Beautiful, complex and expressive bouquet with flint stone minerals. Same on the palate, some oak?, clove and nutty impressions. Beautiful acidity and really delicious.

  In the bouquet nuts and mineral impressions. On the palate full bodied and tasty, some oak, clove and good acidity. Beautiful wine.

  Beautiful bouquet with tropical fruits and a touch of petrol. On the palate mild tropical fruit impressions. Buttery soft, full bodied and elegant at the same time. Complex and beautiful acidity. Truly delicious wine.

  Some crustacean and chalk in the bouquet. On the palate minerals and nicely dry, good citrus, full bodied and some bitterness in the finish. A bit disappointing for its status, but nevertheless a very good wine.

  In the bouquet dark berries and asphalt. Overall a mouth full of dark fruit impressions, very firm and a bit raw, but also very juicy and really complex and beautiful. Still in the young stage of its beautiful complexity. Beautiful acidity and tannin.

  In the expressive bouquet beautiful dark berries. On the palate a firm dose of good sweetness which is beautifully balanced by good acidity and round tannin. A mouth full of delicious wine which is truly great now and certainly has a future of another 6+ years. Great!

It was a great tasting with great company. A feast! Sophie will be the person organizing the next one with this group. I am already looking forward to it. :-)
