Cherry, raspberry and earth. The fruit in the wine is bright and exciting. Nice depth and elegance but still quite tight and closed. This wine has a great future ahead of it.

From magnum. Cherry jello, orange, blackberry, earth, leather and mint. Incredible mid palate complexity and depth. Exceptionally well balanced with bright mouthwatering acidity. Powerful finish that still maintains much grace and elegance. This wine definitely doesn't suck. My personal red WOTN.

Cherry, earth, leather and caramel. A bit closed and monolithic at this point. Rich finish. This wine was not performing to the levels of the 1996 and 2001 tasted at the same time. Showed much better the last few times I've had it. Most likely an off bottle.

Charred oak, black cherry, raspberry and earth. Firm tannins. Great purity of fruit. Huge concentration and structure. Built to last. Chewy. No giving up much at this point. Needs time.

Raspberry and earth. Exhibiting some bitterness on the finish. Very oaky. I'm usually a fan of these wines. Not sure what happened?

Raspberry and earth. Fruit forward in style. Dry tannins and a touch alcoholic on the finish.

Raspberry, anise and earth. Dry, dusty tannins. Rich and extracted. Made in a new world style. The hot finish ruins the potential of this wine for me.

Blackberry, barnyard, earth, green bell pepper. Will balanced with good acidity. Nice finish but just a tad green. Has showed much better in the past.

Vanilla and blackberry. Quite green and acidic. Rich and extracted. Monolithic and closed. A big disappointment for me.

Blackberry, earth and loads of black pepper. Elegant and complex. Nice wine. Not sure I understand what all the fuss is about.
