Light-medium gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. This was the second time having this wine, and the experience was pretty similar to the first time - which for me was fine. Some found this wine to be too oxidative. Generally, I am not a big fan of oxidative Champagnes, but I have enjoyed this wine both times. There is enough brightness for me and complexity to balance that character. Citrus, chalk, green apple, oxidative, sourdough on the nose. The palate offers a similar experience, mature but still bright with good acid and verve, Meyer lemon, green apple, cereal, sourdough, chalk, creamy texture. 90+ to 91pts.
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. First time with this producer. Nice, a bit different. I like the age here, gives it some character. Toasty, big nose, red apple, and ginger. The palate is full bodied, a bit rich, red apple, apple peel, spiced, orange peel, wood tones.
Well this was dandy tonight. Loving the richness, deep apple and red fruits, yeasty, creamy palate, apple peel and steely minerality. I've has this a number of times and this was the best bottle yet. 91+pts.
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Lovely again, poised, rich red and yellow fruits, nice stone minerality, toast, depth, and bright. 91+ to 92pts.
Pale green color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Same bottle as Chablis28. This was absolutely rocking tonight. Agree with everything Craig said. That Dauvissat magic was on full display here. Wow is this intense and penetrating, Grand Cru power and depth, oyster shell minerality, lemon, earthy and wet almost like sweet silage, Meyer lemon blossoms, deeply layered, shellfish, brine, just wow. Loved it.
Pale green color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Oyster minerals, nice salinity, full bodied and pungent seashore aromas, a little veg thing, lemon lime and a touch of tangerine, rather linear and driven. Impressive, drinking really well. 92+pts.
Pale green gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Same bottle as JCGuthrie. Agree with their summary. Fairly crystalline minerality, citrus, some floral aspects, but just seems to be lacking something for a Grand Cru.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Medium deep gold color. This was over the hill and oxidative, there were some interesting and mildly redeeming qualities for me; butterscotch, lemon oil, and mature aromas, but the big picture wasn't there.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Light gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Apparently I was writing with disappearing ink for this wine as their wasn't a single word on the page. I can say this quite good and consistent with my note from 3 years ago. Excellent balance and minerality, 92+ to 93pts.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Pale gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. This was fantastic, really bright and lifted, lovely strong lemon blossom floral notes, ultra crisp with dry limestone minerality, white and yellow citrus, a balance between depth and finesse with the finesse winning out. 80 year old vines. Loved it.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Good, but was hoping for more of the St. Aubin charm and value. This didn't quite meet expectations. Anise, floral, citrus, fairly fresh, medium bodied.
Ultra pale gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. I found this to be drinking pretty lean and lively with good minerality and lemon fruit, tropical notes more in the background, fairly light bodied and the oak seems well integrated. Much more subtle and elegant than expect, and I mean that as a positive. It might not have the oomph that many look for but I thought it was pretty classy.
Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. This was richer and more flashy than the Rhys, sweet like fruits, pear, green apple, good length and acidity. Very good 91+pts.
