My overriding impression was “excellent” but not “outstanding”.
Early days, but wines were very fruit driven (clearly the vintage) and consistently good without classic structured greatness. I found myself more impressed with the value for money wines rather than the classified growth distinguishing themselves.
For me it didn’t match the quality of the 2015 or 2018 tastings albeit these on average featured more esteemed wines.
The host (and I’ve seen others) use the word ‘bright’ to describe the vintage which I think rings true. Bright, lifted, fruity acidity as opposed to more deeper and textural complexity. A bit more red fruits for me
Note that Paulliac, unusually, did not feature at the tasting.
If I was to make a recommendation it would the Les Ormes De Pez (St Estephe) and the Clos Beauregard (Pomerol) both on a value for quality basis.
2019 Château Lilian Ladouys 90 Points

Lovely fruit but lacking a little in structure and complexity. Flavour didn’t quite persist through the taste.

Very complete. Dark fruited, firm tannins and lovely complexity. Very good through the palate drinking experience.

2019 Château Phélan Ségur 90 Points

Very rounded taste and just a little hollow and simple. Almost a tad warm. Red and blue fruited and cinnamon.
