Stand up tasting. Lighter style, this requires attention and shows a mild array of red fruits with good balance and finesse.

Stand up tasting. Rich and fleshy, this is tasty, but hardly Pinot-esque to me.

Stand up tasting. Old world brightness with New world richness in fun combination. Not most complex vintage for this wine, but certainly fun now.

Stand up tasting. Black plum and some cassis, clearly ripe and well spiced. Balanced well, too, this is so fun right now.

Stand up tasting. Big and fleshy, but also managing to retain its balance while clearly on the hefty side.

Stand up tasting. Current release. Three vintage blend. Good volume, but slightly more tart than I'd prefer, nearly bitter.

Stand up tasting. Rich middle, but slightly more grassy than I'd consider ideal. Good enough overall for now.

Stand up tasting. Pale on nose and palate. Lackluster.

Stand up tasting. Fresh and macerated dark berries, this comes across as savory and meaty with faint sweet hints. Certainly firm. Better to cellar another year or three.

Stand up tasting. Nothing shy here. Black plum, liqueur, generously spiced with along, warm finish. Powerful in a single direction right out of the gate. 40% Cab Sauv, 37% PV, 20% Syrah, 3% Malbec. Well made, but not my preferred style of wine.

2019 Arista Winery Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 85 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Stand up tasting. Very rich, classically Pinot fruits with a big dollop of cherry cola that rarely thrills me when this pronounced.

2018 Bergström Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch 87 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Yamhill-Carlton
Stand up tasting. Richer in a style that nearly seemed sweet, making this wine simpler than I'd expect, despite good density.

2021 Composition Pinot Noir 89 Points
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains

2020 Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet

2018 Domaine Capitain-Gagnerot Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Stand up tasting. Lots here, but firm, backward, and even awkward for now. Very firm, nearly seeming tannic. Substantial weight and density, so patience required but the reward is unclear.
