  • 2018 Elio Altare Barolo

    Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Polished oak, caramel, sweet spice, a little green note, red cherry, touch of red plum. Juicy, sweet spice, oak lends a woody quality to the tannins, chocolate, tiny touch of bitterness on the finish. Polished/plush. Not for me.

Closing

What a lovely evening, I could listen to Jon talk forever, he is a fascinating chap. Wines were pretty good as well though the 2019 showed the quality of the vintage through and through...
