  Decanted one hour, still a little closed off, opened up towards end of dinner but never really got there. I will give my other bottles another 5 years before opening

  Possibly the most easy drinking wine of the already soft 2018 vintage. Mild tannin and acid with loads of berries, mint and a good amount of wood. Doable as a pop and pour but better in 2-3 years.

  Elio Altare Barolo 2018
  憧れの初 Elio Altare。
  若くてかなりガチガチの状態。タニックであるが雑味は無くエレガント。
  プルーンの様な黒系果実の甘さの中に感じる、メンソールやハッカの様な爽やかなニュアンスも素晴らしい。
  First Elio Altare I've ever admired.
  Young and quite stiff. Tannic but elegant without any clutter.
  Nice menthol and hackberry-like fresh nuances in the sweetness of the prune-like black fruits.
